Ministry

 

The core ministry arm at Heavens Comfort Ministries, is to provide our Forever In Our Hearts, free personalised memorial blankets to bereaved families. However, we also extend our giving upon application, to terminally ill parents with young children, terminally ill children and teens, young people at risk of suicide and those suffering in the wake of sexual abuse.

Our free blankets are distributed directly through our organisation and also through our partnerships with local hospitals, churches, chaplains, funeral parlours and community organisations. The Vision of Heavens Comfort Ministries is to wrap loving arms around a hurting world, we are well on our way but we cannot accomplish this task alone. We understand the incredible pain associated with losing a loved one. Family and friends often feel helpless to do anything but their hearts long to find a way to bring some form of comfort. We understand this need to give something, but given that our service is free of charge, we would ask that before contacting us, to please consider if a blanket is right for your friend or love one. This ensures that our limited resources are best used for those who would benefit the most from our service.

Free memorial blankets are only given for loss of mother, father, son, daughter, sister and brother. Free Shield blankets are only given to suicidal and self-harming teens and young adults.

If you know someone who is struggling and they are outside of our free blanket criteria, but you strongly feel that they would benefit from our ministry please continue to fill out an enquiry form.
